Print placement changes the way a garment reads from a distance and up close. The best position depends on the artwork, garment, wearer and how the shirt will be seen in real life.
Chest placements can work for smaller marks, logos and compact graphics. Centre-chest artwork creates a stronger statement and needs enough visual breathing room around the design.
A back print gives a larger storytelling area and can work well when the front carries a smaller mark. Check how the artwork sits across the shoulder blades and how it looks when the wearer moves.
Pocket areas suit compact marks and can create a workwear or uniform feel. Keep detailed artwork simple enough to remain clear at a smaller size.
Sleeve artwork is useful for supporting a front or back design. Confirm the sleeve width, garment shape and orientation before finalising the file.
Place the artwork on a garment mock-up, then check scale from normal viewing distance. If you need help deciding between options, use Clear Brief Design or send the brief to Trap Door Print.
